Welcome to Do Me A Favour

The tradition of wedding favours can be traced to ancient Rome when it was believed that objects touched by bride and groom became lucky forever. The favours were passed from hands to hands.

Many wedding customs have been changed or disappeared but the idea of wedding favours usage has passed successfully through the ages. The traditional wedding favours are desserts and sweets that contain almonds. These sweets symbolize both sides of family life after the wedding: The bitter and the sweet.

They are usually presented in a favour box or a fabric in sets of five to represent the five aspects of marriage that are wished for: fertility, longevity, wealth, health and happiness.
